Commercial Solar: Is it a good time to buy solar?

Some insider-trading / price info for you in the solar world. There was an over supply of solar panels/inverters in Australia earlier this year because demand increased but then weather stopped installations creating oversupply. This has been keeping prices low.

Now we are in a boom and in the coming months the market now expects supply to be normalised and prices to increase, with China Covid restrictions affecting components (like silicon), increased demand from Europe paying manufacturers more than Australia does, increased shipping costs ($2000 a container to $10,000) and exchange rate variations.

This hasn't been priced into the Australian wholesale market yet, but it's expected soon. Add to this government rebates reducing each year by around 7% and increasing energy prices.

So, it's a very good time to buy solar.
